Awareness Session on Alzheimer's Disease and other dementias

Audience: 9th Class Students (78 members) & their class teachers
Time: 11:30 am to 12:30 pm IST
Facilitated by: Mr Aditya M, L&D Team at Uninor - AP Circle and an alumnus of the school
The session started with an brief introduction of the facilitators and topic by Mr Aditya and subsequently lead by Ms Bala and Mr Shashidhar from ARDSI Hyderabad Deccan Chapter.
The program was designed as an interactive session with quiz and activities, video presentation and discussion. The students were energetic and brought a lot of enthusiasm and interest to the session. A lot of questions were asked about the general age profile of the affected, prevalence, status of research and cure for AD, symptoms, general management and how the youngsters could help in creating awareness about the disease and its impact.
Many of the students were keen to know about the Human Brain, how Memory worked, its impact on our lives, what happens when it gets affected and other related topics.
The session ended with a brief vote of thanks by Mr Aditya.
Mrs. Malathi Nagarajan, Headmistress of the School was very keen on organizing an awareness session for the school's teachers and other staff in the near future.
