Caregiving often calls us to lean into love we didn’t know possible

Care giver counselling

Caring for a loved one with dementia is a 24/7 job and is extremely challenging both physically and emotionally. We counsel the caregivers and the families of persons with dementia, to help them manage their stress, anxiety, depression and other mental health issues. We also help caregivers to develop strategies to support their caregiving role and self-care. Our counselling is provided by a Clinical Psychologist / Physician trained in Dementia Care.

Care giver training

Caregiving for a person with dementia requires an understanding of the behaviours, the communication strategies, the course of disease progression and the likelihood of complications that will arise. We provide the care givers with professional training and equip them with the necessary knowledge, attitudes and skills to give better care for their loved ones.

Caregiver meetings

Various aspects of dementia care are discussed in theme-based caregiver’s meetings conducted for the family caregivers, health care professionals and volunteers on the last Saturday of every month in a hybrid mode [Zoom call] and in person.

Care giver support groups – ZBCHA – ARDSIHYD

We started a what’s app group constituted of Caregivers and also Neurologists, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Speech therapists etc. We provide a safe place for the families to share experiences and receive emotional support from others in similar situation. Interactions help reduce feelings of isolation and frustration. Information is shared and caregivers are equipped with new caregiver tips and resources. These groups help in stress management, disease education and a sense of community.
